My View

Hello!

It all started with a piece of yummy light that I captured one morning. I was standing at my kitchen sink making my coffee as I always do and there was such a wonderful warm glow coming in from my windows that I stopped to soak it in. It streamed through the glass touching and bringing attention to all that was wonderful and sweet going on in that moment. It was a new day, my daughter was sitting at the table eating breakfast and quietly reading a magazine (her little morning routine), the petals of some Chrysanthemums I had just bought the day before were glowing gold from the light, and in view I could see my daughter’s growing chart on our wall. With the warm smell of coffee matching the warmth of the light and moment, I couldn’t help myself. So I pulled out my camera.

The world needed to see this wonderful happy moment of mine, so after I dropped my daughter off at school I posted it. Then one of my dear friends (who also shares an artistic soul) commented on the post:

” love how you see ordinary things through God’s eyes!!! You are blessed simply because you “see” the abundance in your life. I believe we have far more joy in life when we take in the view God wants us to see.”

Oh my goodness… the view He wants us to see. How beautiful is that?! When the world is concerned with getting away, escaping and finding that great hotel room with the best view… what is the view that He has for us? Don’t get me wrong, I love a good weekend away or family vacay, but why wait to soak up the view only when it comes with four stars? I’ve loved that thought ever since. What is my view and what goodness does God want me to see in that moment? It opened my eyes to the simple beauty right in my own backyard. No swaying palm trees, no ocean view suites, certainly no room service, but a little orange tree lit by morning sun, a contented sweet girl with a full belly, and the smell of lovely warm caffeine in my special cup. This view He gave me is good and can never be rated in stars.

Hello Friends

Let's face it, real life is messy. But I believe that our lives are beautifully created, even when they are messy. God is good in your life all the time, during the pretty stuff and the not so pretty stuff. During the perfect matching outfit days and the yoga pants and spilled applesauce days. Youth and age, smiles and tears, lights and shadows, He is good in all of them. I love seeing His presence and artistry in our everyday moments then I get to capture these moments for others to see... it doesn't get any better than that!
